World Trade Organization & India
ISBN: 81-902867-0-6

The World has finally moved very fast towards an international trading system after a serious thought and planned action on the part of the international community. This is, however, the result of a long drawn process of the formulation of ideas and strategies. The culmination was the finalization of the Uruguay Round Agreement of the GATT/WTO, which has been described as a momentous event in the economic history of the world. The WTO is now recognized as the most influential legal institution governing the international trade. A decade of its existence and working has contributed to the immense economic growth all over the world, especially in the developing countries. In the present scenario, 148 countries are governed in their economic activities by the WTO Agreement and their implications as international and domestic level as it has become the legitimate umpire of international trade.

The book contains 16 chapters covering almost all the areas of WTO Agreements adopted at the end of Uruguay Round of negotiations in 1995. However, this is by no means comprehensive in its coverage but just an attempt to present an overview of all issues and the working of WTO during the last 10 years. We hope this work prove useful to policy makers, various stakeholders including industry, scholars and the other who are interested in the theme.

Intellectual Property Law

This world is in a dire need of socio-economic development, unity in diversity, harmony and peace. The rising trend of globlization and economic liberalization is a very significant development in this direction. The protection of intellectual property is an age-old concept. The developed countries are pioneers in protecting their intellectual capital. This is mainly through paterning, trade marking and copyrighting their respective works. New areas such as semiconductor integrated circuits, layout designs, geographical indications, traditional knowledge, etc. have been included in this list in the recent past. Presently the whole regime is under the supervision of the Agreement on Trade Related Aspects of the Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPs) of the World Trade Organization. (WTO).

Consumer Protection Act
ISBN: 81-89530-17-8

There are now a variety of text books and commentaries on the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 in the market. However, the present text book has no parallel in its systematic, concise and lucid treatment of the subject.

This edition has changed a bit in the form of treatment of the subject. The book now is being presented section-wise. The test of every section is give in bold antic type, distinguishable clearly from commentary under it.

The commentary under each section has been divided and arranged in different topics or sub-heads of the subject matter of the section. The style of dealing with the topics is just lie a tale telling and has been made pleasant and easily understabdable by the readers.

The commentary with the text of sections is useful not only for the law students but it has most of the utilitarian norms of the practicing Advocated as well.

In the end of some very important recent cases decided by the Supreme Court have been given being properly abridged in order to make up the deficiency so far found if any in the book. I hope the book will servc its purpose best to the advantage of students and practicing lawyers etc.
